Systems Administrator

Overview

Systems Administrator – Candidate should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience doing desktop support with at least 5 of those years at a Financial Services company. He/She should also have some Systems Admin experience in the Windows environment as described below. The key technical skills and experience required are:

  • Microsoft Windows and Office core skills and troubleshooting expertise including new user setup, day-to-day desktop support, VDI and patching
  • VoIP Telephony knowledge and support experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technology stack including Server, AD, DNS, Group Policy and Exchange - specifically
    • Windows Server architecture & administration – 2008, 2012 (build, administer, maintenance, troubleshoot)
    • Active Directory architecture, administration and support
    • Windows Exchange Server 2010 with 2013 or better a plus
    • MS Office 2010 suite with 2013, 2016 and Office 365 a plus
    • MS SharePoint Server 2010 and 2013 a plus
  • Virtualization Experience
    • VMware VSphere 5.5 Enterprise Plus architecture and support
    • VDI Citrix 7.6 XenDesktop and XenApp
  • Experience with SAN and storage technology (Hitachi experience a plus)
  • Experience with Cisco UCS Server technology
  • Knowledge of Remote Desktop & Terminal Server product support
  • Experience with backup & archiving technology (Symantec eVault & BackUp Exec or newer products a plus)
  • Microsoft SQL 2008, 2012 or higher experience a plus
  • Mobile Device Management Support
    • Blackberry Enterprise Server expertise including new user setup and
    • iPhone and Android setup and support
  • Knowledge of Network architecture & support and troubleshooting including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access appliances & software, antivirus/spam appliance and IT Security and CyberSecurity
  • RSA Security Management

 

Additional key requirements:

  • Ability to interface and work with users in a trading environment and work within the IT team including occasional after hour and weekend changes and on call support as required
  • Familiarity with Market Data platforms (Bloomberg, etc) a plus
  • Ability to train users on functionality of IT installed products
  • Ability to document and maintain documentation on all installed components
  • Ability to work independently on project related tasks as required
  • 8 years’ experience including 5 years within the Financial Services industry
