The Senior Technology Solution Architect will lead the design efforts, from conception through to delivery, either directly or via oversight of 3rd parties, to ensure that fit for purpose technology solutions are aligned to business needs, strategies and provide value for money. They will take responsibility for technology infrastructure that enables senior IT management to make better technology decisions and to provide long-term cost effective solutions.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business needs and outcomes required for larger or more complex technology projects, and any technology inter-dependencies to ensure an enterprise view when architecting solutions;
  • Drive technology discussions with relevant resources and help large or more complex projects to shape solution options, providing appropriate challenge to stakeholders and influencing decisions to ensure that the solutions designed are architecturally aligned, bring value to the organisation and meet business needs;
  • On large or more complex projects, lead, or where relevant, co-ordinate with 3rd parties to deliver technology designs and develop supporting technical design documentation in line with the scope of the project and your expertise and in compliance with architectural strategies (vision and roadmap) and principles. Carry out due diligence in identifying the solution and adhering to agreed policies and standards in the areas of security, infrastructure, services, delivery and quality assurance in order to ensure business solutions bring real value to the organisation;
  • Build and maintain relationships with Enterprise Architecture, key 3rd party suppliers and other Information Management and Technology Directorate (IMTD) relevant functions in order to influence decisions made in respect of approaches to and scoping of large or more complex projects and to ensure a holistic design is developed;
  • In solution procurements for large or complex projects, support the preparation of functional and non-functional requirements, and prepare and evaluate IT requirements to ensure both functional and technical requirements are aligned. Carry out market research to ensure the right solutions are procured; and
  • Support the Technology Delivery Manager and Project Managers in embedding a culture of continuous improvement in the team by looking for and driving improvements to ‘ways of working’, processes, tools and techniques in order to deliver to best practice and increase capability.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architecture development and implementation;
  • Experienced in at least one enterprise architecture framework methodology (e.g. TOGAF);
  • Ideally should also have architecture experience in a similar business background (e.g. financial services, banking, etc.);
  • Excellent ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs to meet business requirements;
  • Significant experience of designing or leading design of technology solutions;
  • Excellent awareness of the latest technology trends and how these could benefit Central Bank;
  • Understanding of infrastructure related technologies and architectures related to servers, storages, networks, data centres, etc.;
  • Design and build of underlying, core, infrastructure solutions at an enterprise level;
  • Define best practice infrastructure support and maintenance processes to ensure effective management of large scale technology solution stacks;
  • Experience in best practice architectural governance of IT solutions and end to end service lifecycle management;
  • Awareness of latest trends and practices as they apply to the efficient and effective management of core infrastructure both from an in-house and outsourced/ managed service perspective;
  • Ability to work effectively with third party service providers in design, build and operation of technology and infrastructure related projects and services;
  • Provide relevant skills transfer, coaching and mentoring to other team members to share expertise;
  • Experience with IT risk environment and process capability and maturity frameworks desirable;
  • Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
  • Good presentation skills including confidence working at all business levels; and
Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and work without supervision.
