Overview
• Share knowledge and best practices with infrastructure and application development teams to enable them to further automate deployment processes
• Identify opportunities, define and internally market solutions for complex end-to-end infrastructure automation in support of continuous delivery of business services
• Collaborate with application development, infrastructure operations and information security, to deliver automation solutions
• Develop automation scripts and deployment workflows
• Help review, select and integrate new and updated automation tooling
• Experience with the consumption of IaaS and virtualization platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, VMware vCloud Director, VMware vSphere and Google AppEngine
• Intermediate to advanced hands-on scripting experience in Python, Ruby or Perl or similar
• Hands on experience using one or more cloud management and/or orchestration platforms including Red Hat Cloud Forms, vCenter Orchestrator, vCloud Automation Center, RightScale, Enstratius or similar
• Practical use of version control systems such as Subversion or Git
• Working with issue, bug and feature management tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla or similar
• Developing automated builds and tests using Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins/Hudson or similar
• Moderate hands-on administrative experience with Linux systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Debian and/or their derivatives
• Experience in configuring middleware and RDBMS software including JBoss, Apache HTTP Server, WebSphere MQ, Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
• Moderate experience with web-based deployments including SSL and certificates, load balancing and horizontal scaling
• Development mindset: Appreciates the value of applying collaborative software development best practices and tools to the automation of infrastructure deployment and management processes
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery mindset: Appreciates the value of a Continuous Delivery pipeline approach to building software that is always in a state where it could be put into production
• Self-starter who works with little direction, constantly seeks and advances new ways of doing things, keeps abreast of relevant technologies and trends
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively share knowledge via wiki-based documentation and presentations
• Works well in a team and collaborative environment
