Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and designing the programme and projects and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the projects - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its interfaces with other programmes, specifically the Data Management Programme, products and services delivered and operational KPIs achieved
  • Ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements
  • Managing the programme's budget on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses
  • Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects, and where appropriate, facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams
  • Managing communications with all stakeholders, managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects, also managing risks to the programme’s successful outcome
  • Working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position
  • Creating of the monthly Data Management Programme reporting pack including draft commentary
  • Supporting the Portfolio Management Director on the scheduling and management of formal reviews of all annual, quarterly and monthly agile ceremonies, processes, procedures and templates, as appropriate
  • Supporting the embedding of the agile transformation project and programme management methodology

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • You will have relevant experience and a proven track record of delivering projects and reporting to director level with an emphasis on project progress and meeting target and milestone dates
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes;
  • Sound business case development and approvals skills
  • Proficient in programme and project management methods, especially agile, but also PMI/PRINCE2 an advantage
  • Experience in delivering Data or technology projects a distinct advantage
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme
