Network Engineer - Cork

Overview

My Client is a global leader in IT services, digital and business solutions that partners with its clients to simplify, strengthen and transform their businesses. Currently looking for Network Engineer to provide implementation and operational support. This contract role (1 year with possibility to extend) is based in Cork offering competitive daily rate.

 

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Systems: Juniper, Cisco Systems, Palo Alto, Arista, Linux, Unix, MacOS.
  • Networking: Switches, Routers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, WAAS
  • 802.11X wireless networking protocols and deployment.
  • MPLS, VoIP, WIFI (WEP, WPA, TKIP),
  • Must have strong knowledge of the OSI model with emphasis on TCP/IP including Layer 1 through 4 protocol.
  • Extensive operational experience in the design, implementation, and running of global multi-site network environments. 
  • Knowledge of Internet, remote access, security systems (firewalls and VPN's).
  • Should be able to travel upon business need.
  • Advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities needed.
  • Will be part of the on call rota.
  • Creates and maintains network documentation.
  • Maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved equipment and procedures.
  • Monitors system performance for performance tuning and provides detailed reports to senior management on the health and status of the data network infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with complete Cisco network product lines and technologies: IOS, switching and routing, switching (VLAN's, Rapid Spanning Tree, Ether-Channel).

 

Desired Education:

  • CCNP certification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
