.Net Software Support Engineer



Software Support Engineer required for a permanent position with my client, an Irish consultancy company in Dublin city centre.

Some details about the projects: 
The suitable candidate will work within our “Customer Support” function that delivers software support services to our clients through software updates and issue resolution on implemented web and mobile applications. This team also interacts with our other functions for design & delivery teams, software engineering teams and platforms teams.


Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Working within the software support team to analyse customer incidents, providing updates, fixes and resolutions on these;
  • Understanding incoming incidents, replicating these on UAT / QA environments in order to allow for fix verifications
  • Working with other team members to analyse system functions and review functional and technical specifications;
  • Breaking down development of business functions into development tasks;
  • Successfully completing unit testing and related unit test case development capturing associated objective evidence;
  • Supporting testers to successfully complete System Test and release of quality software to customer User Acceptance Test (UAT);
  • Planning with support team colleagues on Production release planning with related release note and deployment process confirmations;
  • Ensure high standards of customer engagement and services are maintained;
  • Expected to complete work-related training and learning with the goal of obtaining relevant Microsoft Certifications in Software Development supported by the organisation;

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience of working in a .NET Software Engineering development / software support role.

  • Unit Testing
  • SQL (T-SQL or Oracle syntax concepts)

Desirable Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
  • OR Diploma in computer science or related discipline
