About The Role

 

Our agile team delivers a dynamic UI platform that supports high quality, enterprise scale applications for thousands of users. We are looking for an engineer with strong JavaScript experience who can use the latest web technologies to build the next generation of our platform. Responsibilities will include:

  • Work as part of an agile development team in our product engineering group.

  • Design and develop key features of the JavaScript UI platform.

  • Introduce new technologies and improve existing code.

  • Collaborate with other teams in design workshops.

  • Take full responsibility for test-driven development and work effectively with QA.

  • Improve practices and design principles.

  • Support application and client delivery teams.

 

Skills and Experience

 

Essential:

  • Front End Development: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML

  • Frameworks: jQuery

 

Desirable:

  • Programming Languages: Java

  • Technologies: Datatables, Highcharts, Struts, Bootstrap

  • Database: Oracle, DB2 (or other relational databases), SQL

  • Test Driven Development: CasperJS or similar UI testing tools, JUnit

  • Application Servers: JBoss, WebSphere or WebLogic

 

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Experience of agile software methodologies and test driven development.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across browsers.

  • Demonstrate the ability to acquire new skills and put these to effective use.

  • Provide accurate estimates for development tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Fully assess the impact of changes on existing product code.

  • Take the initiative and assume ownership for tasks or problems.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (English).
