IT Support Engineer

Overview

This support may include installations of equipment and software. Transferring / escalating support tickets to another member of the support team where necessary. You will also participate in such training as may be identified to you as retaining or extending your skill sets for this work.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all support issues are logged and updated in the Helpdesk system
  • Resolve problems in a timely manner and to the end user's satisfaction
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems related to operating systems, hardware, and software
  • Provide technical support to nationwide offices and remote/mobile staff through phone/email and remote access software.
  • Setup new users, email accounts and install operating systems, software applications and configurations of all workstations including the physical set up of workstations and any accompanying equipment.
  • Support for Microsoft Windows, windows accessibility features and Office apps
  • Ensure all necessary Anti-virus updates and Windows Security patches are applied to all workstations.
  • Support for Screen reader technology etc. Mobile phones, mobile phone accessibility features and applications
  • Have a broad knowledge on a range of devices used by people with sight loss e.g. CCTV’s, digital magnification
  • Working as part of a larger IT team, you will work to both individual and group targets
  • Participating in team meetings
  • To be available to participate in awareness events, exhibitions and talks which promote the ability, employability and applicability of technology in reducing the disabling nature of sight loss
  • Support employers and service users in obtaining or retaining work where technology is being introduced to the work place
  • Manage incidents to service level agreements
     
  • Perform any other duties which may evolve with the changes in technology and support of the technology, staff and people with sight loss as notified to you from time to time.
