IT Support Engineer

Overview

Role Summary:

 

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our high-performing service team based at our new office space in Kilkenny. The role will involve some travel to client sites. All of the standard health and safety protocols will be strictly adhered to if client site visits are required. This role will suit an individual who has a strong technical aptitude, is customer-focused and self-motivated.

 

 

your day will consist of:

 

  1. Providing professional and friendly remote and onsite support to our client base
  2. Troubleshooting and monitoring our client’s server/network environment
  3. Carrying out IT administration
  4. Installing, configuring and troubleshooting of hardware/software/network devices
  5. Supporting senior engineers on project installs
  6. Actively seeking opportunities to improve client’s IT systems and IT operations
  7. Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent customer service
  8. Communicating progress and issues both internally and to clients
  9. Providing technical training to customers, as and when required
  10. Recording in detail all work carried out within a call logging system and document management system
  11. Ensuring service level agreement targets are met
     

 

have you got:

 

  1. A third level relevant technical qualification or alternative
  2. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience providing remote and onsite support
  3. Experience of setup, configuration, troubleshooting network switches, access points, firewalls/routers, SonicWall and Lancom an advantage
  4. Good knowledge of Server roles and technologies e.g. VmWare, HyperV, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  5. Experience of Routers, Firewalls, VPN Set-Up & Configuration (experience of Checkpoint Firewall and/or SonicWall Appliances an advantage)
  6. A high level of exposure to Microsoft 365 stack e.g. Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune MDM, ADConnect
  7. Professional certifications, in particular around Microsoft Azure/365 an advantage
  8. Some Telecoms experience, in particular with Panasonic PBX’s an advantage
  9. Excellent communication skills with fluent spoken and written English
  10. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and documentation skills
  11. The ability to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution
