Digital Project Manager


The Digital Project Manager is responsible for identifying and managing delivery of online experience and capability for strategic digital programs and initiatives.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Digital work stream owner on eir group strategic programmes including definition of scope, resourcing, requirements, interdependencies, approach and risks
  • Manage budget and resource plans for specific digital programs
  • Ensure delivery of projects are on-time, within budget and to specified scope & quality
  • Leverage appropriate eir programmes methodology and ensure fit with digital requirements
  • Deliver targeted benefits and KPIs as agreed within the strategic initiatives
  • Manage teams (virtual / project) to ensure that project milestones and objectives are always achieved efficiently and to agreed spec and deadlines
  • Create, own and manage business cases for new requirements, including senior level sponsorship
  • Maximises efficiencies and re-use of digital capabilities across other programmes
  • Establish appropriate communications, reporting and governance structures to ensure full visibility of programme delivery and performance against plan
  • Sponsor projects through Group technology ideation and prioritisation processes, ensuring strategy, business requirements and KPI’s are clearly communicated and understood by Group Technology
  • Management of assigned virtual team members from other parts of the organisation
  • Ensure technology solutions are net-centric, flexible, efficient and effective to meet with digital go to market and change management requirements
  • Reports performance of initiatives against objectives to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Conducts Post Implementation Reviews following delivery of all key developments to understand and address pain points and drive continual process improvement
  • Supports and inputs to the development of a long-term Online strategy


The successful candidate will report to the Senior Digital Programmes Manager and will work very closely with the Online Delivery, Sales, Service and UX/Design teams to define and deliver the online experiences required to achieve goals


The person will have experience in managing projects for high traffic sites and the project management of strategic and large scale web based projects.


The Programme Manager will be comfortable:

  • Gaining Director level approval and sponsorship for project initiatives, including business case development and justification
  • Managing complex projects with numerous competing priorities
  • Working with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders to define and deliver new functionality
  • Co-ordinating work to maximise the benefits across all eircom brands
  • Devising innovative ways of delivering new functionality.
