Business Analyst - New York

My Client is looking to hire for permanent role Business Analyst based in New York. We are looking for applicants with excellent business knowledge in a wide range of products (Rates/Credit/FX) and experience with Market Data and Analytics will be preferred.

Job description:

 We are searching for a business analyst to join the team, building solutions for client-facing applications focusing primarily on the pre-trade and Research space.  Applications are typically focused on market-data, analytics and trade-analysis. Candidates must be highly motivated with a track record of success in a financial environment.  The ideal candidates will have strong business analysis and project management expertise combined with a thorough understanding of Rates, Credit or FX products.

In this role the candidate will be a business analyst responsible for delivering new and supporting existing functionality primarily for the bank’s client-facing portal. Candidates will be responsible for the delivery of new features including analysis, specifications and product releases as well as some coordination of development and testing.  In particular the candidate must be comfortable working at a detailed level, for example analysing data or solving data-sourcing problems.

This business analyst role is in the Corporate and Investment Bank and will require the candidate to work closely with the business and development teams. The working environment is competitive and demanding but one where creativity and problem solving skills are rewarded.

 

About the team:

 You will be part of the Global Client Technology team which is responsible for delivering Research, pre-trade Analytics, pricing and structuring, execution and post trade functions supporting the business.

The group is divided into small, highly motivated, agile teams.  Software deliveries are typically frequent and the team members are expected to be multi-disciplined and flexible in their approach, working in all areas of the solution space.

 

Educational Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a subject from a top school, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degrees are preferred, but not required.

 

Preferred Work Experience:

The successful candidate is likely to have experience of most, but not all, of the following:

  • Rates/Credit/FX product knowledge
  • Market Data/Pricing/Analytics
  • Client facing applications
  • Working with both Front Office and technology teams to translate business requirements into detailed IT specifications
  • Data analysis
