Business Analyst

Overview

We are looking for a talented Business Analyst for our client based in Cork for a 12 months contract.

Your role involves liaising with business and IMT staff to elicit requirements and obtain a deep understanding of the business domain. You will be required to create and maintain a full set of documentation. You will foster effective team interaction with team members across multiple locations and place a strong emphasis on mentoring and coaching.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Elicit requirements using a range of tools which may include, but is not limited to interviews, document analysis, requirements gathering workshops & business process modelling
  • Produce documentation in line with Departmental standards
  • Understand the business domain, identify needs and evaluate business and technical solutions
  • Manage customer expectations and relationships effectively and professionally
  • Advise on trade-offs between requirement value and development effort
  • Advise on appropriate test strategies and assist with their development and execution
  • Participate in effective and positive team interaction with team members across multiple locations
  • Facilitate Knowledge Transfer/ Sharing of Knowledge with Department staff

  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working in a business analysis role in ICT projects
  • Multi-task effectively working on multiple projects concurrently
  • Knowledge and application of  a range of business process and systems modelling techniques
  • Knowledge of delivery methodologies
  • Working with development lifecycle and delivery models
  • Skilled  in prototyping and mock- up generation
  • Skilled in the conceptual stages of database design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify issues and risks within projects and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
